We at The Locum App recently announced that we had partnered with Jardines Pharmacy, an independent chain of community pharmacies with branches across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Northamptonshire, to provide our unique locum booking and rota management services.
It is a significant step forward; both for The Locum App as we look to revolutionise how pharmacies across the country find and book locums, and for Jardines as they seek to streamline their rota management and reduce the costs traditionally associated with booking temporary staff.
By using The Locum App’s integrated service, Jardines will benefit greatly. Our purpose-built platform will make it easier for their store managers to schedule rotas for all staff and, for the first time, it will integrate locum booking onto that same platform; saving valuable time and modernizing their planning.
All Jardines’ pharmacy managers will need to do from now on to fill locum positions is post the shifts they have available onto The Locum App’s platform. Those shifts will immediately become available to all of the dedicated, skilled locums who have taken just a few minutes to download our app to their smartphones and they will be able to book themselves in at the touch of a button or swipe of a screen.
Unlike a traditional locum agency, The Locum App does not charge an agency fee, instead connecting the pharmacies directly with the locum pharmacists – whose lives are made easier without the need to constantly update their own availability and compliance with numerous agencies – for a simple, surprise-free monthly fee. So, by using our service, Jardines will also reduce costs.
As Jardines Director Krishnan Modi told us when the partnership was announced: “This partnership with The Locum App is a significant development for Jardines, which means we can build on the relationships we have with our staff and our locums. Our shifts will now be posted through The Locum App’s platform and we would encourage any interested locums to sign up.”
Likewise, for The Locum App this new collaboration represents a considerable step forward. The Locum App was built by pharmacists for pharmacists, so to see more of our colleagues benefitting from our idea is of great satisfaction. Jardines is the first chain pharmacy to start using the platform that will revolutionise our industry and their confidence in us is proof that all the hard work we have put in developing The Locum App’s offering over the past 12 months is paying off.
In 2020, The Locum App was named the Online Initiative of the Year at the Chemist+Druggist Awards, a moment we were extremely proud of. This partnership builds directly on that recognition, received from a leading publication that covers and truly understands every aspect of our industry.
Our aim is to help pharmacy as a whole move forward, develop and transform for the better and our convenient, modern platform is at the heart of that ambition. Jardines share that vision and that is why we are sure this partnership will be successful one.
